Time to go home! We’re on our way back to NOLA today. This will be our last drive “home” to New Orleans although we will absolutely be coming back to visit. Especially when we finally get our diabetic alert dog we will be coming back to show him off to all of our amazing supporters. I can’t wait for that day!
We started off with a great breakfast of eggs and bacon. The kids took it upon themselves to make a “fruit cocktail” for all of us. They were too cute.
We got on the road after breakfast and were ready for the lunch challenge. We knew that a fast food restaurant wouldn’t work so we pulled over for Cracker Barrel and did our best to find some good food.
I think we did pretty well too. We ordered a salad to share as an appetizer. I took off the honey ham and the filling of the boiled eggs. Other than that it was great. For our meal Jeremiah ordered the talapia with green beans and apple slices while the rest of us ordered breakfast foods of eggs, bacon and sausage.
Funny story: Before we started eating Shiloh was praying for all of us and for safe travels and for a hundred other things including her guinea pig, Frisbee. Hold the train!!! Immediately I gasped and Brandon jumped up from his chair and ran outside. Why? We had left Frisbee in the car! Haha! Could you imagine if Shiloh had not prayed for Frisbee? Oh my dear, that would not have been good. We were cracking up as Frisbee sat with us for lunch and played a mean game of checkers. That silly pig has become part of the family.
We got home to NOLA just in time for dinner and immediately stopped by the grocery store. Brandon picked up some pork chops and sweet potatoes and we had a delicious home cooked meal.
Whew, we’re home and comfy….for now. Packing starts asap and a new season will begin soon. So excited to see what the Lord has for our family…..

that is so cool that you guys are getting an alert dog!
