It’s Sunday, the start of a new week and the start of a new season for our Whole Family.
We’re moving!
We found out late last week that Brandon was offered the wonderful job we had been praying for….in Houston, TX. We couldn’t be more excited as we start this new adventure and can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for us in this new town. We will miss our friends and all of the wonderful people we have met through Jeremiah’s fundraising, but we are fully confident that this is where the Lord is leading our family. It’s bittersweet of course, but also amazingly faith-building as we rely on the Lord in a very, very real and constant way.
So what are we up to today? We’re house hunting! On a Whole30! This trip was not expected in the slightest when we started our whole30 and we only decided to head out of town with a days notice. Did I meal plan? Um…no. I have no idea when, where or what we’ll be eating. All I know is that we’ll be staying on track with our whole30 and hunting and gathering as we go. Stay tuned for some creative dishes!
Here’s breakfast on the go: Hard boiled eggs, broccoli, pepperoni, a banana and a dose of It Starts With Food. Perfect!
Btw, when we say we’re going house hunting as a whole family, we really are going as a “whole family” Say hello to Frisbee!
I’ve got to be honest, lunch was not easy to come by. It took a lot of phone calls and questions and searching…but we finally found a place to eat. Gringos! Haha, I know, I know, it doesn’t sound like it would be good for you at all. Well, I was pleasantly surprised. We were all able to get talapia cooked in olive oil with only whole30 approved spices and veggies also cooked in olive oil and no msg. It was absolutely delicious and we were all glad to finally have a hot meal for the day.
The minute we got to Houston we started looking at houses and didn’t stop until we had looked at an even dozen. When we finally finished at 7 at night we were exhausted and hungry with nothing to eat. At this point in our healthy eating lifestyle we all would much rather home cooked food versus trying to eat out so I ran in the local grocery store and “gathered” what I could for dinner. I quickly decided on trout (we were in a fish mood) with cinnamon carrots and brussel sprouts. It hit the spot for everyone and ended our day on the right note.
Our new adventure continues on. Stay tuned for where it takes us!
