Day 19 Eats!

Thank God it’s Friday! I actually didn’t realize it was Friday until the evening which just shows how much  I needed it to be Friday. Haha. We kept it simple at breakfast and used up the meats we had left before shopping at the Farmers Market on Saturday. I made chorizo and eggs with what chorizo we had left and ham and eggs with the ham that was left. Of course, I picked the chorizo….and vitamins. Cute, huh?

We’ve been enjoying going to the summer movies and today was the last movie showing, Kung Fu Panda. Instead of popcorn and candy we went for a snack of sushi. Perfect!

By the time we got home I was so exhausted, I’m getting old, that Jeremiah was eager to step up to the plate. He very much prides himself on being able to “cook” and always is asking to. I let him at it and he made his famous tuna salad for all of us. This is a great dish to teach your kids to make if they’re at the age of being able to have some responsibility. Jeremiah is 8 and can throw this together in no time, and has such a sense of accomplishment when he’s done. Go figure, I forgot to take a picture, did I say I was tired?! I’m sure they’ll be one soon since he makes it pretty often.

Dinner. WOW! Dinner surprised us all. We were all running around doing things that I didn’t even start making dinner until about 7. I quickly threw a bunch of things together, hoped it would work, threw things in oil, sampled as I went, and voila! I probably looked like a crazy chef but hey, let the chef do their thing when the food turns out like this! Check out my salmon cakes with dill dressing and a side of brussel sprouts. I’ll say it again, WOW! Brandon said this was the best meal he had ever eaten and I very much agree. These are delicious! If you’re not a salmon fan I would still suggest trying to make these, they’re just that good. Here’s the recipe!

Today was a day full of blessings including one we have been on pins and needles waiting on. We are in the process of selling our house but haven’t know, up until today, where we are moving to. Finally, God opened the door and we know the plan. Our family is moving from New Orleans, LA to Houston, TX! We are so excited and can’t wait to go house shopping. It’s actually going to be very interesting as we go whole30 for the first time out of town, as a whole family. Stay tuned for how it goes!
