Day 8 Eats!

We’re on a roll over here and loving it! I hope our meals are inspiring you as you make healthy meals for your family.

Today is day 1 of cutting out nightshade foods and eggs so breakfast might look a little strange today although I must say, it was really good. I call it: Sweet Beef Scramble. Recipe coming soon!

Brandon took us out for lunch today, our first big meal out since we started the whole30. Thankfully, we all know what works and ordering was easy.

I ordered the trio fajitas with a side of guacamole, hold the cheese and tortillas. Brandon and the kids ordered the ribs (told you they love them) without the barbecue sauce, only a dry rub that did not have sugar in it. The kids sided their ribs with steamed broccoli and mandarin oranges. Brandon also had the broccoli and a side of guacamole. Levi ate all of my leftover guacamole, he loves avocado.

Made our tastebuds sing!

For dinner Brandon got a couple of t-bone steaks from our local meat man and grilled them up outside while I cooked brussel sprouts inside. Brandon had to school me on the t-bone so I will share my wealth of info with you. On one side of the bone is the smaller, tender side, called the filet mignon. The other side of the bone is the larger piece that has more fat and is called the strip steak. Both are mouthwateringly good and the t-bone is considered a prize steak. It’s the perfect steak for us as I usually eat the filet mignon side and Brandon eats the strip side. As you can see from the pic, I got a little of both this time. Brandon seasoned the steak with salt and pepper and it melted in our mouths. You should have seen us gnawing on the bones after dinner. Yes, it was that good. The brussel sprouts were amazingly good as well, crispy and seasoned perfectly. Everyone cleared their plate without any encouragement. It was the perfect dinner!

I hope you’re doing well in feeding your family all the nutrients they need, in the most flavorful and fun way possible. Keep up the great work, it is so worth it!
