To a whole lot of moms out there today is a joyous, much-anticipated, celebratory day that encompasses everything we’ve always wanted. To have children. To be a mom.
And what a wonderful day it is! I know, for me, this day brings back the flood of memories of each of my children’s birth and what amazing, hard, exciting days they were. I squeeze my kids a little tighter today and think back on the last year and how much has changed, how much they’ve grown. I even have those flashes in my mind of what it will be like 10 years, 20 years, 30 years from now. I actually can’t imagine, but it’s fun to try!
To a whole lot of moms out there today really is a joyous day… even through the pain of miscarriage and loss. For many, many moms, including myself, today is also a reminder of the babies that we can’t cuddle this side of heaven. It’s a reminder of yet another reason we are kingdom-minded, because it is only there that we will lovingly hold the children we only held for a moment here. How much I look forward to that day!
So, enjoy your day mom! Enjoy your children and the quirky, sweet, silly, cute things they do and say. As I write this Levi is running into the sofa over and over saying “Yook Mommy!” I love it!
Remember also that I am praying, many of us are praying, for you moms who don’t have all of your children here. And please, please don’t think that because your child is not in your arms that you are not a mom. You are a mom. A strong, amazing, blessed mom.
Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms. All of you. May God bless you on this day and always.
“I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him.” 1 Samuel 1:27

We were so excited when a friend called to tell us we made it in the paper! Thank you to the Times-Picayune for putting us on the front page and sharing our story. Y’all are the best!
(If you have no idea what I’m talking about check out how we are working towards getting Jeremiah a diabetic alert dog here.)
When I started eating paleo I started on my own after encouragement from a friend. A few months later I slowly started the process of bringing the rest of my family in. Thankfully for us, this has not been a “pulling my hair out” experience, but it hasn’t been the easiest either. I mean really, if I’m tempted when I see an advertisement for a caramel frapuccino from McDonalds, imagine when my kids see the same advertisement for the pink smile chicken nuggets! Life throws temptations at us all day so my job as a mom is to make tasty, new, fun foods for all of us to enjoy and be excited to eat. It’s a constant job of exploring books and recipe sites, investigating ingredient lists, hunting out new ideas, and trying to keep up with my kids ever-changing tastebuds.

Matt and Stacy from Paleo Parents were so sweet to send us a copy of their new cookbook. I can’t say enough WONDERFUL things about this amazing book.My usual “exploration” was narrowed to one book and I didn’t need to go anywhere else. I loved the food, the hubs loved the food, and the kids loved the food. Nothing was difficult to make, the kids were able to help me with most meals, and most importantly, everything was great for our bodies. Thank you Paleo Parents for caring for my family through your book.
Hi Guys! I wanted to give everyone an update/praise report on our fundraising for Jeremiah’s diabetic alert dog.
We had our “Pamper for a Pup” fundraiser yesterday and not only was it a lot of fun, we did really well. Thank you so much to all you ladies that were able to attend.
We had a whole lot of good food including paleo pizza and n’oatmeal cookies made by Simone with Pampered Chef. Sooo good! We also had Laurie with Premiere Jewelry, DeAnna with Scentsy, and Brandi with Mary Kay. Can you tell we had a blast?!
A dear friend of mine forwarded this to me and it was too simple, yet profound for me not to share. I hope it touches your heart as much as it touched mine…….
“When I got home that night as my wife served dinner, I held her hand and said, I’ve got something to tell you. She sat down and ate quietly. Again I observed the hurt in her eyes. Continue reading →
