Practical Prayer for the Whole Family

I saw this great idea on Pinterest, my newest love, and had to share it. It’s SIMPLE, which I love and it’s REAL, which I also love.

In our home we make it a point to pray for our family members, the ones in our house and the ones far away. We pray for our friends, even our little friends, and the needs that they have expressed to us. Although we love doing this and look forward to it, it can sometimes become redundant, people can sometimes fall through the cracks, or we can sometimes get sidetracked and forget to pray all together.

Until…. I found this wonderful, cute, creative, and SIMPLE way to remind us to be praying for those we hold dear. A prayer bucket full of prayer sticks! I was NOT the creative genius behind this idea so I must give credit where credit is very much due. This grand idea came from the wonderful blog, Melissa’s Projects. Thanks so much Melissa for the inspiration!

Is this not the cutest thing you have ever seen?!?!!!  Continue reading

Whole Family | A Day to Celebrate

Today is a day to celebrate. Today is a day to rejoice. Today is a day that has gone done in history. It’s in the book. The Book of Life. Today is the day the Lord saved me.

10 years ago today I surrendered my life to the Lord. 10 years ago today I gave over the reigns of my shambled life and allowed the giver of my life to lead my life. 10 years ago today I was saved by grace alone. 10 years ago today I started to live. To really live. Continue reading

A Woman’s Week at the Gym

I received this hilarious email this evening at HAD to share. I must confess I have no idea who it originated from, if you do please let me know. It seems it has circulated the web for a while. Otherwise, enjoy the hilarity (if that’s a word) of this story.

This is dedicated to everyone who ever attempted to get into a regular workout routine. Continue reading

Whole Family | Motivation

I don’t know about you but I need motivation. I am in constant need of motivation.

I look for it everywhere. I find it everywhere.

I find it online, through my friends, through the bible, through my family, through myself.

It works. It keeps my focused. It keeps me working towards my goals.

I encourage you to make a motivational “wall” of what motivates you.

Here are a few of my current motivational inspirations. Hope they motivate you too.  Continue reading

Me and my big belly…..

I like food as much as the next guy. Actually, let me rephrase that. I like food MORE than the next guy. I love salty, crunchy, fried, greasy, smothered, carb-wrapped food. One of my most favoritist foods? (Yes, I made up a word) Jack in the Box tacos! I know, I know….but I do!

And… I can eat a lot of them. Do I? No. Why not, you ask? Because it makes me feel like crap.

Before I switched to eating paleo almost every time I ate I felt bad afterwards. My stomach would be a whole lot bigger than it was before I ate, my back would hurt, and I would have major bowel issues immediately following my meal. It wasn’t pretty. But…. I thought that was normal. I thought this must be how everyone lives, it’s just one of those things no one talks about. And, because this was an every day occurrence it wasn’t something I couldn’t handle. How things have changed!

After going paleo for a couple of months I decided to “eat what everyone else is eating”. Donuts. Haha! The joke was on me. Partly because I already had an issue with grains and dairy, and partly because I had not had eaten them in a while, my stomach BLEW UP! It’s almost funny now…but not really. Continue reading

Last day at the beach… Goodbye Whole30

Even though our Whole30 is over we had one more full day left at the beach that we wanted to share. I share this to say that even though the Whole30 is over, we are still eating good food and even though I am no longer sharing our every move, we are still hanging out having a fun time as a family. I also share because we live in New Orleans and our families live everywhere but. Blogging about our fun experiences allows our families to feel closer and more connected to us. It’s wonderful all around. I hope you enjoy seeing pictures of our last day at the beach as much as we enjoyed being there.

For breakfast I made an egg casserole of acorn squash, salmon and eggs.
