Day 29 Eats! Day 4 Beach!

I know I sound like a broken record but yay for another fun day at the beach! And yay for great Whole30 approved food! I can’t believe we’re already at Day 29 of our Whole30. It didn’t necessarily “fly” by but it was a very real, good, refreshing Whole30. Can’t wait to share our progress and our new goals in a future post.

Day 4 at the beach started with a delicious breakfast of eggs over easy, sautéed acorn squash, and some absolutely incredible green onion sausage from the meat market.

A good breakfast always starts the day off right and today it certainly did the job.

We took it easy this morning so before we headed out to the beach we made ourselves a nutritious snack of apple slices dipped in tuna.

We loved it!

After our mid-morning snack Shiloh, Levi and I headed to the beach. Jeremiah had to stay back for the morning. :(

Guess who finally became okay with the sand?!!

That’s right! Levi was introduced to beach toys and didn’t look back.

He was in serious concentration.

With a majorly big workspace.

At one point he found a rubber ducky in the beach bag and I encouraged him to put the due in the water. He really wanted to and would run to the water, freak out when he would get a few inched from the water, and run back. About 10 times.

Shiloh was nice enough to throw it in for him.

You could tell he wanted to get in there so bad but was still a little afraid.

He would work himself up to it….

…and then run away again.

My plan finally worked! The duck pulled him in!

And he LIKED it!!!

The face of a happy little boy.

He almost looks comfortable in the water. Oops, never mind. Haha!!!

What a good big sister to help your little bro out. So sweet.

We came back to the condo for a nutritious lunch of spaghetti chili.

Gorgeous. Delicious. Healthy. Sigh….

Last night I had browned up some of the green onion sausage and added it to the spaghetti. Wow did it make the spaghetti even better.

We ate the entire container we had left…which means we all had 3 bowls each!

Jeremiah is experimenting with his photography skills. Hey mom!

Spaghetti faces!

My boys…

“Mo mommy!” “Mo peas mommy!”

And another, “More please!”

I think they like it.

After lunch we headed back out to the beach while Levi napped.

Jeremiah and Shiloh were just a little excited.

They made a plan to collect seashells.

It was a little chilly so this was the perfect afternoon for it.

After their search they made a “village” of sand castles. What fun.

Shiloh was very proud of her work.

What was I doing? Trying to get caught up on my bible study. Perfect scenery for it too.

The finished village!

And then….they pretended to be giants and stomped the place to the ground. Yep. That’s what I said.

Our day at the beach wore us out.

Well, at least it wore Shiloh out who crashed the minute we got back.

Jeremiah and I took the opportunity to talk to daddy and grandma.

As I made dinner Jeremiah offered to help me clean off mushrooms. What a big help.

Like I said. I made dinner! I went a little crazy on the skillet and cooked up some plantains, cauliflower, acorn squash, and brussel sprouts. I also sliced up some zucchini, squash, and sweet potatoes for another meal.

When Shiloh woke up the kids lined up to make their plates for dinner with grilled salmon and all the veggies.

I am very thankful that I don’t have to force them to pick out some veggies.

They piled their plates high.

And all 3 of them came back for seconds.

Dinner was a success…as was the whole day. I hope yours was too.

From our “Whole Family” to yours…
