It’s Saturday….. Did you feel me exhale?! Yes, that was me. The weekend has arrived and things, sort of, slow down. Not that they’re all that fast during the week but slow motion comes into play on Saturday. Of course we started the day at the farmers market and then enjoyed some fresh ham right off the bone, eggs and avocado. My perfect go-to breakfast. On a paper plate, no less.
……….
Brandon was at our church’s mens retreat this weekend. Knowing that they were probably not going to get the best Whole30 approved foods while there we came up with a plan. We split up the meals for 3 men between their 3 wives and my job was to cover lunch. Brandon requested my curry, which I thought was great, so I roasted a turkey and got to work. I used my same chicken curry recipe but used the turkey instead and it came out wonderfully. Curry is such a comfort food that not only did it hit the spot for Brandon….it hit the spot for all of us too. And it made a whole lot!
So who is us, you ask? Well, we had a visitor to the Whole Family abode this day…our friend Ayumi from ieatloveandrun2! Ayumi introduced me to Emma, and I am extremely thankful. If you have not watched the BBC version of Emma I highly recommend you do. It brings you back to a simpler time when women was ladies and men were gentlemen. We watched all 3 (it actually became more like 7) hours of Emma, folding clothes, eating curry, and cracking up throughout the whole thing.
What were my kids doing while we watched movie after movie? They were digging a hole. Oh yeah….
I wouldn’t joke about this kind of thing. Thank goodness Daddy wasn’t home!
A very nice, very rainy-day-feel-relaxful time. (Except for the hole.)
Everyone needs a Saturday like this every once in a while.
……….
By the time Brandon got home I was so wiped out from doing nothing all day that dinner wasn’t anything gourmet or high in thought. It was…again….curry. And it was wonderful.
……….
I hope your Saturday was as relaxful, slow, and SIMPLE as ours was. Happy weekend!

It was such yummy curry, sweet sweet movie, and just nice chillaxin’ day!
